Statement

Accessibility

Accessibility isn't a feature on this site — it's the whole point. As a Deaf person, I know what it feels like to hit a barrier, and I don't want anyone hitting one here.

Our goal

TJ IRL is built toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA. That includes:

  • Semantic structure and a logical heading order
  • Full keyboard navigation with visible focus
  • A skip-to-content link
  • Strong color contrast in both light and dark themes
  • Text that scales and layouts that hold up at high zoom
  • Respect for your reduced-motion setting
  • Alt text on meaningful images, and captions or transcripts for video

It's ongoing

Accessibility is never “done.” I review new posts and features as they go up, and fix issues as I find them.

Found a barrier?

Please tell me. Use the contact form with the subject “Accessibility” and describe what happened, which page you were on, and what device or assistive technology you were using. I'll respond in writing.
